The Zerode Taniwha is the most exciting bike of the year. It is the combination of high end race ready design with practical engineering and reliability. Even better this bike is designed in New Zealand by Rob Metz.
Zerode have gone back to the basics of suspension design. The revolutionary use and placement of a gearbox allowing Zerode to revisit concepts such as optimised wheel path, sprung to un-sprung ratios and mass centralisation. Concepts long ago discarded by the competition because of the limitations of the drive train we all know and hate.
Whether you are privateer pushing hard to compete on the world cup circuit or a weekend warrior after the best suspension available a Zerode is for you…

The Rune is one of the most loved bikes by our customers. With rave reviews and some very impressive features this bike is the do it all, destroy everything, light trail to big mountain monster you need. It has adjustable geometry with its flip chips and one of the best linkages in the game.
We built this bike to be super reliable while having no sacrifice on performance. Shimano Xt hubs laced to WTB Frequency rims, Fox Float X rear shock, Rockshox Yari fork and a Shimano SLX 11 speed drive train make this the perfect build for those wanting a killer sled that will never let them down.
This Mojo Hd3 was built to update and upgrade the customers existing bike. Most the components were transferred across with some additions such as custom decals for the rims so the bike tied together perfectly. The show stopping looks aside, where this bike really showed its prowess was on the trail. Even though his old bike was one of the best this masterpiece took his riding to an all new level as he smashed his climbing times and was able to push the descents to an all new level.
This bike has become a shop favorite and the customer a great friend. The build process was that of balance for customer preferences and our advice and knowledge culminating in something that we like and most importantly the customer loves. The Spitfire is already a famously balanced bike that is great at climbing and descending but with a few touches like the shock and its tune, a duel position fork, carbon rims on DT Swiss hubs and a nice light, stiff and reliable build.
This Santa Cruz Hightower is a real beauty with the characteristics of a trail smashing brute. It is an amazing bike, perfect for back country mayhem while sporting these 27.5+ sized tyres. Those big hoops may look heavy but as many bikes show us now, looks can be deceiving and this comes to a very reasonable sub 30lbs making this the perfect bike for big days in the back country and carrying your gear. It is quite fitting that it will get its tyres dirty on the Old Ghost Road for its first debut, but as you may know with the Santa Cruz Hightower you can change the wheels to a 29er set for when things get too muddy or too fast for all that rubber.
Another killer build to keep things exciting. This ‘Go Wellington’ weapon does things a little differently, right down to the most subtle detail. The blacked out graphics keep it custom and beautifully balanced Kashima components compliment the gold medal winning group-set. ENVE wheels and cockpit round of the bling bits, but the silent killer of this bold bumble bee is the Onyx hubs. Instant engagement goodness help these big wheels spin to make for a very very happy customer and one of the most exciting builds we have been privileged to create.
Building a bike this custom can be quite a difficult task but the outcome is always worth it. The customer wanted his dream bike and that was a Nomad with a top shelf build. Chris bling bearings all around and the carbon envy of everyone on the rest of it, all tied together with custom graphics to keep it personal. It was an amazing opportunity to build this bike but even better, like in most of these level of builds, the shop made a good friend who is stoked on his new sled.
We built this absolute stunner to be an ultra light yet unbelievably versatile weapon. It may be light enough for XC short course races but this bike is designed for longer days and the trails a little less traveled. As we all know now it is much nicer to pedal a light bike after hours of back country fun and suffering but it also has to last those k’s as well.
It was a great process putting this together as the customer was based in the South Island and together we carefully balanced out reliability and strength with weight over many emails and phone calls. We are super happy with how this one came out and know the owner will love it for many years and adventures to come.
This bike was built to be a hard hitter with climbing character. It is super tough no compromise kit with reliable well speced components that we know, trust and use here in the shop. Light enough to be dragged up a mountain, tough enough to be smashed back down and reliable enough to be the trusted stead for years and years. The Roubion frame was the frame for the job with its ability to do it all and the parts were a combination of our knowledge and the customers desires. Together we have made a bike we are all proud of but most importantly the customer is super stoked on.
